“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.” — Matthew 5:9

Heavenly Father,

We come before You with humble hearts, grieving the violence, division, hatred, and unrest that continue to spread across the earth. You are the Creator of all nations, the Ruler above every government, and the God who sees every battlefield, every broken city, every fearful child, every grieving parent, and every hidden wound that war leaves behind. Nothing is beyond Your sight, and no cry for mercy escapes Your ear.

Lord, we ask for Your peace to cover this world.

Where there is war, bring stillness. Where there is hatred, bring conviction. Where there is pride, bring humility. Where there is revenge, bring restraint. Where there is fear, bring comfort. Where there is chaos, bring Your divine order. Father, so many people are living under the shadow of conflict, uncertainty, and sorrow. Some do not know if they will see tomorrow. Some do not know if their homes will still stand. Some do not know how they will feed their children, protect their families, or survive another day. We ask You to be near to them in their suffering.

Lord, protect the innocent. Shield children from violence. Comfort mothers and fathers who are terrified for their families. Strengthen those who are displaced, grieving, traumatized, or living in daily fear. Be a refuge for the vulnerable, the poor, the oppressed, the forgotten, and the weary. Let Your mercy reach those in refugee camps, hospitals, shelters, shattered neighborhoods, and places the world has stopped paying attention to.

Father, we pray for leaders across the nations. We ask You to interrupt the plans of evil men, to expose corruption, and to restrain those who thirst for power, conquest, bloodshed, and destruction. Give wisdom to presidents, prime ministers, generals, diplomats, lawmakers, and every authority in positions of influence. Remove arrogance from their hearts. Silence deception. Break the grip of greed, hatred, and ambition. Cause them to see the cost of their decisions not in numbers and headlines alone, but in human lives made in Your image.

Lord, raise up peacemakers who are guided by truth, justice, courage, and mercy. Let peace not be built on lies, compromise with evil, or the oppression of the weak, but on what is right and righteous before You. Teach the nations that real peace cannot come apart from truth, and lasting peace cannot be sustained where wickedness is loved and justice is ignored.

We also pray for the Church around the world. Strengthen believers living in places of war, persecution, and instability. Guard their faith. Give them courage to endure, wisdom to serve, and love that does not grow cold. Let Your people be lights in dark places, ministers of reconciliation, and witnesses to the hope of Christ in the middle of suffering. Help us not to grow numb to the pain of the world. Keep our hearts tender, prayerful, and awake.

Forgive us, Lord, for the ways humanity continues to reject Your ways. Forgive the violence, the cruelty, the indifference, the idol of power, the love of domination, and the shedding of innocent blood. Forgive us for trusting in weapons, governments, and human strength more than in You. Turn hearts back to righteousness. Bring repentance where there is rebellion. Bring salvation where there is darkness. Let many come to know Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, in the middle of this troubled age.

Father, calm what is raging across this earth. Bring an end to needless bloodshed. Let hostages be released, the wounded be healed, the hungry be fed, and broken lands begin to recover. Restore what violence has torn apart. Let justice rise. Let mercy prevail. Let peace break through in places where it seems impossible.

And while we pray for peace among nations, we also ask You to begin with us. Remove hatred from our hearts. Remove bitterness, prejudice, rage, and pride. Make us people who reflect the character of Christ. Teach us to walk in love, to speak truth, to seek justice, and to live as ambassadors of Your kingdom in a fractured world.

We place this hurting world in Your hands, trusting that You alone are sovereign over history. When the nations rage and the earth trembles, You remain God. When leaders fail and systems collapse, You remain faithful. When we do not know what tomorrow holds, we know that You are still on the throne.

So we ask again, Lord: let Your peace come. Let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. And let the name of Jesus Christ be lifted high above every nation, every conflict, every ruler, and every fear.

In the mighty and merciful name of Jesus, we pray, Amen.
